The Friday recreation of the "running out of the theater" scene included nearly 500 participants and at least as many outside watching. As for Kyra missing the event, her transportation broke down halfway across the state on Friday afternoon. I know she was looking forward to the event. She has been there before and hopefully will return next year. Ghoul-a-go-go was a hoot-and-a-half. Check them out if you haven't seen them before. The Rivers rock-a-billy trio was terrific both Friday, in the theater, and Saturday, outside. I look forward to next year's Blobfest with great anticipation. Even if you can't make the celebration, go see the Colonial Theater. The restoration is going great and you deserve to treat yourself to the retro style and feel of the building. That is great company, if I do say myself. This movie terrified ever before I saw it! Then came the day, that I rented a Beta copy of it. Watched it 3 times in a row! This movie has such moments of genuine horror, suspense and comedy. The wonderful colour onscreen, joined by the catchy theme song, makes for a great viewing experience. Glad to hear that I'm not the only one who still holds this movie in high regards! “The Blob” remains in my top five movies of all time, along with the company of “Citizen Kane”. It just seems... so undergraduate. Whenever I watch an ep I do get quite a few chuckles from the commentary the guys do, but always, always fast forward through the tedious and incredibly unfunny bits in between. I can understand why that lass got a bit ignored... was she an onscreen person or just a writer? It seems the only MST3K "personality" who gets recognised these days is Mike Nelson - but I guess he is too busy producing the even more unfunny and incredibly tedious Rifftraks. I really enjoyed the 80's remake of The Blob, I actually have it on DVD but of course I haven't watched it yet ( like so many of my other DVDs ) and I hadn't heard about another remake of The Blob but somehow I'm not all that supprised.
